St. Mary’s Annual VBS to have retro camping theme
“Rangers” leading groups of “campers” ages 4-10 will explore “God’s Backyard: Under the Sun” at the St. Mary’s Episcopal Church annual Vacation Bible School. The day camp runs Monday through Friday, July 8-12, from 9 a.m. to noon in the church courtyard which has been transformed into a “forest” campground like those found in National Parks. Favorite camp games, arts and crafts, singing, dancing, and Bible stories will help campers experience God’s backyard – the natural world – and their place in it. In addition to enjoying and exploring the natural world, kids’ projects will reflect the underlying theme of the week -- service, says coordinator Ann Gibson.
Reservations for the camp can be made online at http://www.vacationbibleschool.com/smec, by printing, filling out, and mailing the paper form (click here), or by stopping by the church office to pick up and fill out a paper form. Your child’s spot is not guaranteed until their tuition has been paid. Tuition must be paid in advance by dropping it off or mailing it to the church office. Tuition is $40 per child and $25 for each additional sibling. A music CD of songs for campers is also available for a $1 materials donation. Attendance is limited so early registration is recommended. Children will need to bring a clean, white t-shirt for the first day of camp!
