The Rev. Don Callison’s Ordination
March 24, 2024 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Sunday March 24 at 2pm
Join us Sunday March 24 for a parish lunch honoring Don at 11:30am, ordination at 2pm, and reception following.
Will there be room in the church?
- We expect to fill the church and will have the livestream playing in the parish hall as well if we run out of room, so everyone will be able to participate. We will bring communion to those in the hall.
- Consider carpooling.
Can I get my Palm Sunday Palms at the Ordination?
- Though it is happening on Palm Sunday, it is an ordination service, not a Palm Sunday service. So please come to one of our other Palm Sunday services (Saturday 5:30pm, Sunday 8am and 10am) for the liturgy of the palms, and the passion Gospel.
Is it is OK to receive communion more than once in a day?
- Absolutely! In our tradition there is no limit on the number of times you can receive communion in a day.
What if I gave up sweets for Lent?
- You can always consider Don’s ordination a “feast” and therefore not under the obligations of Lenten fast! Technically every Sunday is a celebration of the resurrection and not counted in the official 40 days of Lent.
Should I wear Red?
- That would be fun! Red is the color of the Holy Spirit, and the color of Palm Sunday, and the color of ordinations! Wearing red is very appropriate, and also in no way required.
