Disasters
In August of 2014, a 6.0 magnitude earthquake shook the city violently and did extensive damage to our church, including our beautiful stained glass windows, organ, and brick work. Aided by donations from all across the country, we repaired the damage and reinforced the building to mitigate damage from future earthquakes. Then the wildfires of 2017 came, and while the city and the church were spared, some of our parishioners tragically lost their homes. In 2020 two wildfires burned 40% of the land area of our county, but again the town of Napa was spared. Our church is an active member of our local Community Organizations Active in Disaster and helped in putting together gift cards and resources to help those impacted by the fires.
