Guidelines

We offer our beautiful church in the heart of the Napa Valley to all couples under the following conditional guidelines.

• Call the church office to make an appointment with the Rector to set the date. Couples who live outside the Napa area may make all arrangements over the phone. Please note that no date will be set without confirmation and consent of the Rector.

• At least one of the couple to be married must be a baptized Christian.

• The couple must attend pre-marital counseling with a Priest at St. Mary’s or show documentation of such counseling from another Episcopal church.

• We are delighted to marry couples that are not members of any local church on the condition that the commit themselves to regular attendance and instructions during the period of their pre-marital counseling. The Rector will discuss your plans for pre-marital counseling and church attendance in your own community.

• Candidates those who have been married and divorced will be asked to discuss the former marriage, and the candidate must also supply a copy of the final decree of dissolution. A letter and copy of the decree will become part of a file that will be sent to the Bishop of the Diocese of Northern California, whose consent is required for the divorced persons to be married by a Priest of the Diocese.

Wedding Receptions

St. Mary’s is pleased to host Wedding Receptions in our large well-equipped Parish Hall. The hall holds a maximum of 150 people, has a full restaurant-style kitchen, an electrical capacity for sound systems, and a beautiful baby grand piano.

The charges are $375 for non-member families or $160 for pledging parish families; a one-time $200 cleaning deposit; and proof of insurance on the facility and the event of an amount no less than $1,000,000 naming St. Mary’s as beneficiary.
